No. Oxford Academy is a public school, and the school of choice for academic achievement and college preparation in Orange County, California. Oxford Academy is open to any child in the Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD), regardless of economic circumstance, through a rigorous entrance examination.

As a school of choice in AUHSD, Oxford does not receive funding that many schools receive.

  • Oxford does not get EIA or ELAP funds because it doesn't have second language students.

  • Oxford does not get Title 1 funds from the Federal government because it does not have students who are "at risk."

  • Money allocated from the State to schools has been significantly reduced so extra programs are difficult to fund.

  • Oxford does not have a football program, which is a significant money maker for most high schools.
